De tekst is zeer kinderlijk eenvoudig. Een zinnetje per keer. Over hoe kleine kinderen naar bed gaan, worden geholpen en zelf dingen kunnen en hoe hun ouders voor hen zorgen.

Tekeningen:

De tekeningen zijn van Renée Graef en Susan McAliley en inherent lieflijk. In de tekeningen wordt veel gestopt. Ze zijn mooi en warm. Er is en tekening van een meisje dat uit het raam kijkt. Daarna van een moeder die twee meisjes in een rood nachthemd helpt. Dan van een meisje dat haar nachtmuts strikt. Dan krijgt het meisje een kus van haar moeder als ze in bed ligt. De laatste tekening is van Pa die viool speelt. De tekeningen zijn in kleur.

Eigen mening:

Boekje ontvangen in 2021 bij de zending van Susan Dugan. Dit boekje hoorde nog bij de serie kinderboekjes en die is nu compleet. Ik wilde het boekje voor de tekeningen en die zijn gewoon de moeite waard.

Summary:

The text is very childishly simple. One sentence at a time. About how small children go to bed, are helped and can do things themselves and how their parents take care of them.

Drawings:

The drawings are by Renée Graef and Susan McAliley and inherently sweet. A lot is put into the drawings. They are beautiful and warm. There is a drawing of a girl looking out the window. Then of a mother helping two girls into a red nightgown. Then of a girl tying her nightcap. Then the girl gets a kiss from her mother when she is in bed. The last drawing is of Pa playing the violin. The drawings are in color.

Own opinion:

Booklet received in 2021 with the shipment from Susan Dugan. This booklet was still part of the series of children's books and that is now complete. I wanted the booklet for the drawings and they are simply worth it.

De plaatjes zijn allemaal van Garth Williams en overgenomen uit de boeken. Er zijn geen nieuwe plaatjes bij en veel algemene plaatjes van bloemen. De plaatjes passen bij het hoofdstukje.

Eigen mening:

Geinig boekje, tot nu toe nog te mooi om in te vullen voor mezelf.

So it is already an empty book that you have to fill in yourself. And there are also short pieces of text from the Laura books. It is actually a very extensive friends book

Drawings:

The pictures are all by Garth Williams and taken from the books. There are no new pictures and many general pictures of flowers. The pictures fit the chapter.

Own opinion:

Nice book, so far too beautiful to fill in for myself.

Alleen de kaft is getekend door Renée Graef, de andere tekeningen zijn gemaakt door Deborah Maze. Het zijn wat algemene tekeningen: een hoed, een theeset, bloemetjes, pakjes, een taart. Iedere pagina is versierd met een rand van linten, bloemen, hartjes, strikjes, snoepjes, ballonnen.

Eigen mening:

Het boekje viel eigenlijk een beetje tegen, te eenvoudig. En de tekeningen waren te simpel, al is de kaft wel Renée Graef vriendelijk. Geen boekje om te moeten hebben, maar voor mij altijd waardevol als toevoeging aan mijn verzameling.

Only the cover is drawn by Renée Graef, the other drawings are made by Deborah Maze. They are some general drawings: a hat, a tea set, flowers, packages, a cake. Each page is decorated with a border of ribbons, flowers, hearts, bows, sweets, balloons.

Own opinion:

The booklet was actually a bit disappointing, too simple. And the drawings were too simple, although the cover of Renée Graef is friendly. Not a booklet to have, but for me always valuable as an addition to my collection.

Er wordt ingegaan op hoe je een biografie schrijft en hoe de ontwikkeling is van een manuscript tot een boek. Verder worden tips gegeven hoe je zelf een boek zou kunnen schrijven, door te spelen met woorden. 

Er staat een eenvoudige quiz in het boek en een glossary en termen voor een schrijver.

Tekeningen:

Bekende foto’s van de familie. Een foto van een plaggenhut en een algemene tekening van een gezin dat kampeert op de prairie bij een huifkar. Ook een foto van een deel van de cast van de televisieserie. Bekende foto’s van de familie zoals portretfoto’s van Laura, de foto van de drie zusjes samen, de familie-foto, een foto van Almanzo, het huis in Mansfield, een foto van Rose en Laura’s schrijftafeltje, de foto dat Laura signeert en een foto van Laura en Almanzo samen. Andere platen in het boek zijn van de kaften van boeken en de uitgebreide serie van alle vrouwen.

Eigen mening:

Geinig boekje, voor de tekst is het niet interessant, maar het idee is wel leuk. Geen bijzondere foto’s.

It discusses how to write a biography and how a manuscript develops into a book. Furthermore, tips are given on how to write a book yourself, by playing with words.

There is a simple quiz in the book and a glossary and terms for a writer.

Drawings:

Famous photos of the family. A photo of a sod hut and a general drawing of a family camping on the prairie near a covered wagon. Also a photo of part of the cast of the television series. Well-known photos of the family such as portrait photos of Laura, the photo of the three sisters together, the family photo, a photo of Almanzo, the house in Mansfield, a photo of Rose and Laura's writing desk, the photo of Laura signing and a photo of Laura and Almanzo together. Other plates in the book are of the covers of books and the extensive series of all the women.

Own opinion:

Nice little book, it is not interesting for the text, but the idea is nice. No special photos.

De tekeningen zijn van Renée Graef en Doris Ettlinger en dus wel mooi. Gedetailleerd. Heel kleurig. De kleren zijn passend bij het kopje. De getekende scenes zijn de prairie en in de blokhut.

Eigen mening:

In 2021 gekregen met de zending van Susan Duggan. Het laatste papieren poppen boek dat ik nog moest. De poppen zijn steeds hetzelfde, maar de kleren verschillen. De achtergrond-decors zijn telkens ook wel mooi.

The drawings are by Renée Graef and Doris Ettlinger and therefore beautiful. Detailed. Very colorful. The clothes match the scene. The drawn scenes are the prairie and in the log cabin.

Own opinion:

Received in 2021 with the shipment from Susan Duggan. The last paper doll book that I still had to get. The dolls are always the same, but the clothes are different. The background decors are also always beautiful.

Tekeningen van Renée Graef die papieren poppen heeft getekend en extra kleren om aan te trekken. Tevens zit er een scene bij die je aan twee kanten kunt gebruiken. Dit is om te spelen. De tekeningen zijn herkenbaar de familie. De kleren zijn mooi en gedetailleerd. Het zijn lieve poppen.

De achterkant is aan een zijde buiten de blokhut met de bomen en struiken er omheen. De andere kant is in de blokhut, met een kachel en open haard en het geweer boven de deur.

Eigen mening:

In 2020 gekocht, mooi boek, vanwege de plaatjes. Te mooi om mee te spelen.

The background is on one side outside of the log cabin with the trees and bushes around it. The other side is in the log cabin, with a stove and fireplace and the gun above the door.

Own opinion:

Bought in 2020, beautiful book, because of the pictures. Too beautiful to play with.

Mooie, ingekleurde plaatjes. De poppen zijn van karton, de kleren van lichter papier. De tekeningen zijn erg mooi en lief en gedetailleerd. Ook zijn er elke keer een paar extra’s, zoals meubels, een pan, een hoed, enz.

Er zijn twee achtergronden. De ene is van Independence en de winkelstraat waar Mr. Edwards de kerstman tegen kwam. De andere kant is in de blokhut, het haardvuur met de bedden.

Eigen mening:

In 2020 gekocht. Mooi boek vanwege de papieren poppen die weer een link hebben met Laura Ingalls. En natuurlijk de mooie manier van tekeningen van Renée Graef en Doris Ettlinger. De tekeningen wie welke heeft gemaakt zijn niet uit elkaar te houden. Het is een mooi boek.

There are two backgrounds. One is of Independence and the shopping street where Mr. Edwards met Santa Claus. The other side is in the log cabin, the fireplace with the beds.

Own opinion:

Bought in 2020. Beautiful book because of the paper dolls that have a link with Laura Ingalls. And of course the beautiful way of drawings by Renée Graef and Doris Ettlinger. The drawings who made which are indistinguishable. It is a beautiful book.
