Samenvatting:

Eenvoudig boek waarin het gewone verhaal heel globaal wordt verteld. Er wordt gedaan alsof Laura Walnut Grove heeft veranderd in Plum Creek. Er wordt vermeld dat Laura zou hebben aangeboden om “ogen” voor Mary te zijn, ipv dat Pa het zou hebben gevraagd. 

Er wordt ingegaan op hoe je een biografie schrijft en hoe de ontwikkeling is van een manuscript tot een boek. Verder worden tips gegeven hoe je zelf een boek zou kunnen schrijven, door te spelen met woorden. 

Er staat een eenvoudige quiz in het boek en een glossary en termen voor een schrijver.

Tekeningen:

Bekende foto’s van de familie. Een foto van een plaggenhut en een algemene tekening van een gezin dat kampeert op de prairie bij een huifkar. Ook een foto van een deel van de cast van de televisieserie. Bekende foto’s van de familie zoals portretfoto’s van Laura, de foto van de drie zusjes samen, de familie-foto, een foto van Almanzo, het huis in Mansfield, een foto van Rose en Laura’s schrijftafeltje, de foto dat Laura signeert en een foto van Laura en Almanzo samen. Eigen mening:

Geinig boekje, voor de tekst is het niet interessant, maar het idee is wel leuk. Geen bijzondere foto’s.

Summary:

A simple book in which the ordinary story is told very globally. It is pretended that Laura changed Walnut Grove into Plum Creek. It is mentioned that Laura offered to be "eyes" for Mary, instead of Pa asking.

It discusses how to write a biography and how a manuscript develops into a book. Furthermore, tips are given on how to write a book yourself, by playing with words.

There is a simple quiz in the book and a glossary and terms for a writer.

Drawings:

Famous photos of the family. A photo of a sod hut and a general drawing of a family camping on the prairie near a covered wagon. Also a photo of part of the cast of the television series. Well-known photos of the family such as portrait photos of Laura, the photo of the three sisters together, the family photo, a photo of Almanzo, the house in Mansfield, a photo of Rose and Laura's writing desk, the photo of Laura signing and a photo of Laura and Almanzo together. Other plates in the book are of the covers of books and the extensive series of all the women.

Own opinion:

Nice little book, it is not interesting for the text, but the idea is nice. No special photos.
