Het boek is opgedeeld in drie hoofdstukken: kerst-decoraties, kerst-kadootjes en kerst-recepten. Uit andere knutselboeken zijn ook projecten gehaald, maar deze hebben wel met kerst te maken. Wat betreft kerstdecoraties worden popcorn-slingers beschreven en de muskietnet-zakjes die Carrie en Grace diezelfde avond maakten. De sleebellen van Almanzo en Ma’s gestreepte inpakpapier. Verder kerstboom-versiering en Ma’s ster-rand voor een plank.

Als kerstkadootjes staan beschreven: het naaldboekje voor Aunt Eliza, de clove-apple voor ma. Mary’s gevlochten kleed en Carrie’s met kant afgezette zakdoekjes. Laura’s geborduurde fotolijstje en de kralenketting die Laura en Mary voor Carrie maakten uit Ma’s kralen-doos.

De recepten zijn pannenkoek-mannetjes, popcorn-balls, de hartgevormde koeken en een pie en natuurlijk molasses-on-snow snoepgoed.

Tekeningen:

Het boek heeft heel veel tekeningen. Sowieso heeft iedere bladzijde een rand van versierde dennentakken, elke keer hetzelfde. Bij alle projecten worden dingen uitgelegd met tekeningen. De tekeningen zijn mooi en duidelijk.

Eigen mening:

Boek heb ik besteld in november 2020 en ontvangen in februari 2021. Kwam uit Engeland. Corona-tijd…

Boek is erg netjes en zelfs nog compleet met de knutsel-spulletjes. Het boek is netjes en leuk om te hebben.

De projecten zijn duidelijk beschreven en ook goed voor kinderen. Ze zijn niet te moeilijk, voorzien van veel plaatjes. In het zakje zitten bruikbaarheden, maar het is niet helemaal compleet, de knopen zijn er bijvoorbeeld wel uit gehaald. Het zakje is stuk.

Summary:

The book is divided into three chapters: Christmas decorations, Christmas gifts and Christmas recipes. Projects have also been taken from other craft books, but these do have to do with Christmas. As for Christmas decorations, popcorn garlands are described and the mosquito net bags that Carrie and Grace made that same evening. Almanzo's sleigh bells and Ma's striped wrapping paper. Also Christmas tree decorations and Ma's star border for a shelf.

As Christmas gifts are described: the needlebook for Aunt Eliza, the clove-apple for Ma. Mary's braided dress and Carrie's lace-trimmed handkerchiefs. Laura's embroidered picture frame and the beaded necklace that Laura and Mary made for Carrie from Ma's bead box.

The recipes are pancake men, popcorn balls, the heart-shaped cookies and a pie and of course molasses-on-snow candy.

Drawings:

The book has a lot of drawings. In any case, every page has a border of decorated pine branches, the same every time. Things are explained with drawings in all projects. The drawings are beautiful and clear.

Own opinion:

I ordered the book in November 2020 and received it in February 2021. Came from England. Corona time…

The book is very neat and even complete with the craft supplies. The book is neat and nice to have.

The projects are clearly described and also good for children. They are not too difficult, with many pictures. The bag contains useful things, but it is not completely complete, for example the buttons have been removed. The bag is broken.
