Samenvatting:

Het verhaal gaat samengevat over de dag van het feest bij Grootvader en Grootmoeder in het grote bos. De familie Ingalls vertrekt vroeg naar Grootvader en Grootmoeder. Terwijl Laura en Mary aan het ontbijt zitten, pakt Pa zijn viool in en Ma pakt serviesgoed. Dik ingepakt in de slee rijden ze door het bos naar grootvader en grootmoeder. Grootmoeder verwelkomt de familie aan de deur. Laura kan spelen in het grote huis. Mary zit netjes te handwerken. Laura springt op het bed en warmt zich bij het vuur, terwijl Grootmoeder in de keuken staat te koken. Laura kijkt toe hoe Ma en de tantes zich kleden. Er arriveren veel mensen bij het huis van Grootvader en Grootmoeder. Op het bed worden heel veel baby’s gelegd. Er wordt gedanst en Pa speelt op zijn viool. Laura danst met haar oom. Laura kijkt toe hoe Ma met Grootvader danst. Uiteindelijk wordt er gegeten. Laura proeft een augurk en kijkt heel zuur. Uiteindelijk gaat ze slapen. Grootmoeder kijkt bij Laura wat ze eet als het ochtend is. Daarna gaat de familie Ingalls naar huis in de slee.

Tekeningen:

Dit dunne kinderboek is getekend door Renée Graef. De tekeningen zijn weer mooi en lieflijk. Laura en Mary die aan tafel hun ontbijt eten, terwijl Pa zijn viool inpakt. Grootmoeder die in de deuropening de familie verwelkomt. Ma en de tantes die zich kleden. Laura die zuur kijkt bij het eten van een augurk en alle kinderen die moe en slaperig zijn. Ook de gezichtsuitdrukkingen zijn heel goed getekend. De familie in de slee, dik ingepakt. Al het bezoek dat arriveert bij de blokhut in het donker met lantaarns in de hand en in sleden en wagens. Mary die netjes zit te borduren, terwijl Laura op het bed springt en zich, met uitgestrekte handjes, warmt bij het haardvuur. Alle baby’s op het bed, de dansende mensen.

Eigen mening:

Dun boekje met het verhaal over het feest bij Grootvader. Het verhaal is bekend, het boekje heb ik vanwege de tekeningen. Deze zijn mooi en lief en levendig en echt. De mooiheid van de tekening zit hem ook in de details. Alle jurken zijn verschillend, maar mooi tot in de kleinste details, gezichtsuitdrukkingen. Elke tekening is tot in de puntjes kloppend en levendig.

Resume:

In summary, the story is about the day of the party at Grandfather and Grandmother's in the big woods. The Ingalls family leaves early for Grandfather and Grandmother. While Laura and Mary are having breakfast, Pa packs his violin and Ma takes some dishes. Thickly wrapped up in blankets they sit in the sleigh, they drive through the woods to grandfather and grandmother. Grandmother welcomes the family at the door. Laura can play in the big house. Mary is doing needlework. Laura jumps on the bed and warms herself by the fire, while Grandmother cooks in the kitchen. Laura watches Ma and the aunts get dressed. Many people arrive at Grandfather and Grandmother's house. Many babies are placed on the bed. There is dancing and Pa plays his violin. Laura dances with her uncle. Laura watches Ma dance with Grandfather. Finally there is food. Laura tastes a pickle and looks very sour. Finally she goes to sleep. Grandmother watches Laura what she eats in the morning. Afterwards, the Ingalls family head home in the sleigh.

Drawings:

This thin children's book is drawn by Renée Graef. The drawings are again beautiful and lovely. Laura and Mary eating their breakfast at the table while Pa packs his violin. Grandmother welcoming the family in the doorway. Ma and the aunts dressing. Laura looking sour while eating a pickle and all the children who are tired and sleepy. The facial expressions are also very well drawn. The family in the sleigh, thickly wrapped. All the visitors arriving at the log cabin in the dark with lanterns in hand and in sleighs and wagons. Mary doing some embroidery, while Laura jumps on the bed and, hands outstretched, warms herself by the fire. All the babies on the bed, the dancing people.

Own opinion:

Thin booklet with the story about the party at Grandfather's. The story is known, I have the booklet because of the drawings. These are beautiful and sweet and vibrant and real. The beauty of the drawing is also in the details. All dresses are different, but beautiful down to the smallest details, facial expressions. Every drawing is accurate and lively down to the last detail.
