Het kleine huis in het grote bos is bekend.

Het eerste deel van de serie, geschreven door Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Het vertelt een jaar dat het gezin met Pa, Ma, Mary, Laura en Carrie in het grote bos in Winconsin woont. Er staan veel verhalen in die Pa aan zijn meisjes vertelde. Er gebeurd veel in het verhaal, ze maken kerst mee, gaan naar een feest bij grootvader, gaan een keer naar de stad en verder helpt Laura mee met de dagelijkse dingen die in huis gebeuren, zoals het maken van kaas, het roken van vlees, het oogsten.

Er staan natuurlijk geen tekeningen in dit boek!!!

Eigen mening:

De twee delen zijn gekomen met de zending van Susan Duggan in 2021.

Ik wilde heel graag een LIW-boek in braille toen ik dat eenmaal had gezien. Omdat, voor mijn gevoel, een braille boek van Laura Ingalls Wilder wel heel veel over mezelf bij elkaar brengt. Ik, al jaren een grote fan van Laura Ingalls Wilder, werkend met ogen als orthoptist en recent werkzaam in de slechtziendenzorg, met toch ook wel een fascinatie voor slechtzienden.

Hoewel ik besef dat ik het braillebook waarschijnlijk NOOIT zal “lezen”, want het is in het Engels en ook nog met gestandaardiseerde woorden, vind ik het heel bijzonder dat ik het heb.

The little house in the big Woods story is well known.

The first part of the series, written by Laura Ingalls Wilder.

It tells a year that the family lives in the big woods in Winconsin with Pa, Ma, Mary, Laura and Carrie. There are many stories that Pa told his girls. A lot happens in the story, they experience Christmas, go to a party at grandfather's, go to town once and Laura helps with the daily things that happen in the house, such as making cheese, smoking meat, the harvesting.

Of course there are no drawings in this book!!!

Own opinion:

The two parts came with Susan Duggan's sending in 2021.

I really wanted an Laura Ingalls Wilder book in Braille once I saw it. Because, in my opinion, a Braille book by Laura Ingalls Wilder brings together a lot about myself. Me, a big fan of Laura Ingalls Wilder for years, working with eyes as an orthoptist and recently working in visually impaired care, with a fascination for the visually impaired.

Although I realize that I will probably NEVER “read” the braille book, because it is in English and with standardized words too, I think it is very special that I have it.
