Samenvatting:

Bij alle foto's staat uitleg en tekst. Het is vooral een fotoboek. De stukjes uitleg van de foto’s zijn maar kort. De gedrukte documenten zijn bijna allemaal goed te lezen.

Tekeningen:

Een dun boekje vol met foto’s van de familie Ingalls. Wel enkele bijzondere foto’s. Er staat een kopie in van het lerarencertificaat van Ma, brieven van Ma naar Carrie, gedichten van Mary, gegevens van Carrie, een schoolopstel van Ma uit 1850-er jaren.

De foto’s zijn heel duidelijk. En verder veel foto’s van alle gezinsleden. Ma met haar zussen Eliza en Martha, Carrie met (school-)vriendinnen, Ma met haar naaiclubje en de inwonende familie Green, foto’s van Grace met haar man. Foto’s van Laura vanaf haar 17de jaar tot haar 85ste. Foto’s van Laura en Almanzo samen. Foto’s van Rose (ook enkele die ik nog nooit gezien had). Foto’s van de huizen op de verschillende sites en van DeSmet en Pa’s huis. Uiteindelijk ook nog foto’s van het huis in Mansfield, laura met een clubje vriendinnen, Carrie voor het huis, het ravijn in de winter, Almanzo’s werkschuur en het huidige huis.

Eigen mening:

Een bijzonder boekje, zeer informatief. Zeer boeiend. Ook nieuwe foto’s zijn samengevoegd in dit boekje. Dun, maar boeiend.

Summary:

All photos have explanations and text. It's primarily a photo book. The explanatory notes are brief. The printed documents are almost all easy to read.

Drawings:

A thin book full of photos of the Ingalls family. There are some remarkable photos, though. It includes a copy of Ma's teacher's certificate, letters from Ma to Carrie, poems from Mary, information from Carrie, and a school essay from Ma's from the 1850s.

The photos are very clear. There are also many photos of all the family members: Ma with her sisters Eliza and Martha, Carrie with (school) friends, Ma with her sewing club and the Green family living there, and photos of Grace with her husband. Photos of Laura from her 17th to her 85th birthday. Photos of Laura and Almanzo together. Photos of Rose (including some I'd never seen before). Photos of the houses on the various websites and of De Smet and Pa's house. Finally, there are also photos of the house in Mansfield, Laura with a group of friends, Carrie in front of the house, the ravine in winter, Almanzo's work shed, and the current house.

My own opinion:

A unique book, very informative. Very captivating. New photos have also been included in this book. Slim, but captivating.
